New County District LInes Approved- Good or Bad... Here They Are
We Need Good Candidates to Run in Many of these districts. Commissiners Pellow, Quayle and Nordeen are the only ones who have shown character worthy of re-election by trying to limit benefits to part-timers
No Sitting Commissioners reside in the following districts

Yellow (North) & Tan (Sands & Chocolay Townships)

Needs Replacement Badly

Map of New County Districts
The county apportionment committee consisted of county Prosecutor Gary Walker, County Clerk Connie Branum, County Treasurer Ann Gerioux, Democrat Party Chair Ben Bohnsak, and Republican Chair Dan Adamini.

The Elected Officials wanted a 5 commissioner plan, while the party chairs wanted a plan with no less than 7 commisisoners.
A motion to approve a plan with 8 commissioners failed 3 to 2

A plan with 7 commissioners was not voted on
A plan for 5 could have passed, but the united opposition of the two party chairs  prompted the others to accept a compromise of 6 commissioners.  A vote of 4 would have been needed with 7, and the same majority is needed with 6, so it is not a total loss.

The primary issue is the commissioners most in support of the problem issues in the county will be running in districts which almost guarantee their victory; and the more sensible commissioners will be running against each other.  The county loses in this scenario.

Find candidates to run in these districts... time to step up and continue the work the current county commission has begun.
