Our Last meeting was held at Wahlstrom’s in Harvey at 6pm on Monday January 8th, 2009
Our next meeting will be Thursday 1/29 at 6 pm at Wahlstrom’s
The county convention will follow at 7:30pm
Those present moved to send congratulatory notes to the successful republican candidates in 2008, and notes of thanks to those who ran but were unsuccessful. We are hoping more of these people will attend our monthly meetings.
It was suggested that we encourage more people to write letters to the editor of the Mining Journal. There are regular contributors who stand on the other side of issues; and we need more people writing letters that are well thought out promoting our philosophy of less government intervention and more personal freedoms & responsibilities.
Candidates for state party offices were mentioned, and more will be available prior to the convention.

The meeting closed with a lively discussion of the county’s retire and rehire policy.
We plan to close each meeting with a topic for discussion by everyone, so please come and participate.
We will discuss local, state & national topics, and will try to focus on issues where we may have an impact.
WE NEED TO FILL THE OFFICE OF SECRETARY FOR THE PARTY - - -
Primary responsibilities are taking the minutes of meetings and being the primary contact for correspondence.
Please consider stepping into this position if you can… we need you!

The State Republican Convention will be held on Friday-Saturday February 20-21 in Lansing.
If anyone is interested please contact Dan Adamini. E-mail DJAdamini@aol.com or call Dan at his AAA office 225-9751 for more information. We are planning to take a bus to the convention and reserve a block of rooms.

The Republican County Convention will be held at 7:30pm on Thursday January 29th at Wahlstom’s
The regular monthly meeting of the party will commence at 6pm that same evening 1/29 at Wahlstrom’s.
After the business portion of the meeting, we will have another topic (as yet undetermined).
Please come to the meeting, and suggest future debate topics. We don’t need to agree, we need to debate & move forward!
