This month’s regular meeting is being cancelled, as many of us will be out of town.
Our April Meeting will be held on the second Monday, April 11th.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Until we meet again, here is an update.
Congressman Dan Benishek’s office in Marquette is now staffed. Katrina will be the primary contact at this office. Email benishek.house.gov is the best way to contact the congressman. The Marquette office phone number is 906-273-1661.
State Senator Casperson has been travelling his district extensively when he is not in Lansing.
He has already been to Marquette meeting with city, township & county representatives; and certainly shows by his work ethic that we made the right choice last November. Contact him at http://www.senate.michigan.gov/gop and click on his name listed on the right side of the screen.
State Representatives Huuki & McBroom have been busy helping turn the state around. You can keep up with all our legislators by going to their pages on the www.michigan.gov web site. You can also keep up with pending legislation by going to www.michiganvotes.org , a site that details all votes and bills on the floor.
We have not yet picked a date for our Lincoln Day Dinner; but are looking at one day during the weekend of May 13,14,15. We want to coordinate with Congressman Benishek, Senator Casperson, and State Party Chair Bobby Schostak a our speakers.
There will be a special social hour prior to the event open to PAID MEMBERS of the Marquette County Party. If you have not yet paid your annual membership… this is a great time to do it.
Go to www.marquettegop.com and click on the join / donate tab. You can pay via paypal, or print out the application form and send a check.
Finally… we need people to run for township, city, and county office. We CANNOT allow the democrats to run unopposed! Consider running for a township / county seat on the republican ticket. Consider running for a non-partisan seat to give a conservative voice to your city.
