The April meeting at Wahlstrom’s had a light turnout; but had a very interesting discussion.

Kirby Juntilla from the Marquette Board of Light & Power discussed the impact of current

legislation on out local utility, and on utilities generally.  During Q & A, it became clear (as we all know)

that arbitrary targets and legislation to enforce them have an impact far beyond their intent.

I encourage you all to attend the next meeting in June.

 

Tom Casperson discussed statewide items of interest.

 

America’s Tea Party events were held across the U.P.

Two events in Marquette were well attended.

 

 

Next Meeting – Lincoln Day Dinner

 

Next month’s meeting will be replaced by our Lincoln Day Dinner on

Wednesday May 27th at the Ramada Inn of Marquette.

Social Hour from 5:30 – 6:30… Dinner 6:30 – 7:00…Program 7:00 – 8:00

 

Guest Speakers include: 

Pete Hoekstra – US Congress – Candidate for Governor

Mike Bishop – Michigan Senate Leader – Candidate for Attorney General

 

This is both a fund-raiser and social event for our county party… plan to attend
