The Mackinac Leadership Conference was held on Mackinac Island the weekend beginning 9/25/09.
Keynote speakers included Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Former Michigan Governor John Engler & Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
Discussions on topics from energy policy to fixing Michigan’s economic woes were held; and to nobody’s surprise… ending the over-regulation & government interference would be a great first step to getting Michigan back to work. The high point for many was the debate among the candidates for governor, and (on the final day) the 5 minute speeches by the candidates for governor, attorney general, and secretary of state. We are fortunate to have such a qualified pool of candidates, and the least of these will be far better than any democrat opponent on the ballot!
Bring a friend to our next meeting. We need more participants in our discussion!
