U.S. Congressman Pete Hoekstra Town Hall Meeting
On Tuesday September 1st, U.S. Congressman (and candidate for governor) Pete Hoekstra filled in for our own representative Bart Stupak, who chose not to address his constituents face to face.
More than 700 attendees questioned the congressman about the pending health care reform bill. Those in attendance at the Town Hall Meeting appreciated Rep. Hoekstra's willingness to meet with all U.P. residents face to face, regardless of party affiliation. Mr Stupak did hold a televised meeting the following day where questions could be e-mailed or called in; and recently held a meeting with his supporters in Marquette.
